IMPORTANT TAX NOTICE: Colorado PTA 990 update 2/5/09.

All units will be required to file a 990/990EZ or the new electronic 990N this Fall.

Notice from Colorado PTA Regarding 990N, 990EZ, and 990 Filings: Great News!! The Colorado PTA has received confirmation from the IRS that our classification has been corrected and we are now listed as a 509(a)(2). This misclassification was causing problems for units that were trying to file their tax returns. If you are still having difficulty filing your 990s or have any questions, please call the Colorado PTA office at 303-420-7820, or e-mail us at office@copta.org.

Jeffco Parents Focus on School Nutrition - Jeffco Parents Focus on School Nutrition was founded by parents of students in the Jefferson County Public Schools district who are concerned about the nutritional well-being of all children. Our goal is to work with the Jeffco Public Schools district, and at the individual school level, in order to continually improve the nutritional quality of all foods offered in Jeffco schools, as well as the level of nutritional education and awareness provided in Jeffco schools. Units in Good Standing: Please keep your records up to date by filing the following forms by due dates:

  • DUE - Membership Report are due November 1 and February 1

  • DUE - File your IRS 990EZ, 990, or 990N before the 15th Day of the 5th month after you fiscal year ends. Send a copy to the Colorado PTA 30 days after filing.

  • DUE - Audit Reports are due to Colorado PTA 30 days after your fiscal year ends.

  • Insurance Dues - look for invoice in September
